Whoops, looks like I didn't use this at all first semester... I did keep a record of my work on power point and word documents I promise.

Wow I'm amazed I've lasted this long. Let's see what's in store for another crazy year of uni...
I managed to shoot a lot of my stop motion images for the animation. I did a few cuts of them together in premier and this is the one I have decided to move forward with. I added a few extra touches, I have decided to make the character drink alcohol through the story to add to the comedic value and give him an excuse for not noticing the girl on the canvas moving around as much. I am really happy with what I have. I didn't get chance to film the very end as I hadn't finished drawing the front view of my puppet and I wanted to end it on a view of his face covered in paint. I will go back to this later. I have decided to use a paper puppet for the man in my animation. I have been using watercolour on him and the background to give the animation a painterly feel. I am going to be animating my second character in photoshop over the stop motion animation.
I have been doing a lot of story boarding to try and figure out exactly what I want to happen in my film. I think I have the main events down so I've done an animatic as well to get the pacing right. Typically I've broke my phone before sending my animatic over so I wont be able to access it for a couple weeks while its getting fixed. Here are all the story boards and animatic drawings though in a relatively random order.
Some character and background designs I've been working on for this semesters project. I have been playing around with some colours a bit too, thinking i might use watercolour in my final piece to link in with the painters narrative.
Our new project for this semester is called 'Two characters and a setting'. The idea behind the project is that our film must contain two characters and a setting that all interact with each other to further the narrative. I have decided to work on an idea I have had for a while about a painter and his painted character. I have written out a rough story line to start.
My final animation for our world in a room project. I am pretty happy with it, there are pieces that i know i could have animated better, but I didn't really notice hem until it was too late to go back and fix them. The sound is a bit off at times as well, but I still think it hold up decently. Most importantly, I have learned absolutely loads while I've been making this so I guess that makes is a success. I sketched out a few very basic key frames for the scenes I would be creating in maya and forgot to post them on here. They actually helped me quite a bit for some scenes, but for others I made it up as I went. Here they are anyway, better late than never.
I have made a very basic animatic for my two rooms project as it will involve a lot of cuts and changing camera angles rather than a lot of complex character movement. Hopefully this will help me develop my stop motion and Maya animation. I am having problems uploading it so I'm not sure if I will be able to link it here, but I'll try again at a later date.
